Lynnwood High School students took home second and third place Wednesday night at the district-wide talent show finals. Katie Phippen took second place for her Irish dancing routine. Funk band Phat Phunk took third for their rendition of Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk.”
The event comes after each of the four local high schools held their own talent shows. Top acts from each school performed again Wednesday night at the Mountlake Terrace Theater in a district-wide final round. A total of 12 acts competed.
Mountlake Terrace High School student Flynn Thomas took first place. Thomas’s act involved taking three members from the audience and having them randomly scribble on a piece of paper while Thomas was not looking. Then he cued some music, turned around and transformed those scribbles into original art pieces. Each scribbling volunteer got to take their corresponding art piece home.
Lynnwood High School students Mckenna Sessions and Makeala Eddings performed a duet during the competition.
Several performers also came from Meadowdale High School. The band She Thinks I’m Alex performed an original song, Raina Shaw performed a traditional hula dance and Analynn Ledesma sang.
