Lynnwood K-9 unit apprehends suspect in Mountlake Terrace stabbing

Lynnwood-police-patchA 31-year-old man suspected of stabbing a Mountlake Terrace man was arrested by police early Monday morning.

Mountlake Terrace Police were called to the Greenview Apartments (21400 52nd Ave. W.) in Mountlake Terrace for a report of an assault at 12:10 a.m. on Monday, July 20.

Upon arriving on scene, officers contacted the male victim in front of one of the buildings. The victim had sustained several stab wounds to his stomach, chest, arm and ear. The victim had been fighting with two other men and was stabbed with a broken bottle during the fight.

Witnesses told officers that the suspect had fled south through the apartment complex. Officers flooded the area and a Lynnwood K9 conducted a track for the suspect. The K9 track was successful and the suspect was taken into custody.

The 32-year old victim was transported to Swedish Edmonds where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The 31-year-old suspect also was treated at Swedish Edmonds then transported to Snohomish County Jail and booked for the assault.
