Lynnwood Library hosts Creative Commons Open House on Saturday, Nov. 9

The public is invited to come and see the new resources at Lynnwood Library’s Creative Commons at an Open House on Saturday, Nov. 9. The Open house starts at 10 a.m.

Here is a schedule:

From 10 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.: Have your photo taken in front of the Eiffel Tower, or at the Taj Mahal, on the Great Wall of China, or even in the jungle of Sierra Madre. Using the green screen and lighting kit, the library can add a customized background for you. The library then can print out your photo or email it to you as a file so you’ll have proof that a visit to your local library opens doors to the world.

From 10-10:30 a.m. and 2-2:30 p.m.: Digitize home movies and sound recordings. During our all-day celebration, the library will demonstrate our new reproduction and media transfer lab where you can convert your VHS tapes, records, cassette tapes, slides, and photos into digital formats.

From 2-4 p.m.: Create your own business or personal card at our iMac Station/ It’s easy — Choose a template created from Adobe Illustrator, add your personal information, and then save your new card or email it to yourself for later printing. .

Visit our Creative Commons Education Lab and learn about the new Adobe Suite software installed on our iMacs and available to the public. Here’s the line-up:

10-10:30 a.m. Media Conversion

10:30-11 a.m. Adobe Dreamweaver

11-11:30 a.m. InDesign

11:30am-12pm Lynda.com

1-1:30 p.m. Adobe Illustrator

1:30-2 p.m. Adobe Photoshop

2-2:30 p.m. Media Conversion

2:30-3 p.m. Lynda.com
