Lynnwood Link Extension Draft Environmental Impact Statement released

Lynnwood Link StationsSound Transit and the Federal Transit Administration have published the Lynnwood Link Extension Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for public comment.

The Lynnwood Link Extension will extend light rail from Northgate to Lynnwood. It is part of the Sound Transit 2 Plan approved by voters in 2008. The Draft EIS is required by the National and State Environmental Policy Acts.

An open house is scheduled for 5:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21 at the Embassy Suites (20610 44th Ave. W., Lynnwood). This is an opportunity to learn about the project’s potential benefits and impacts and provide feedback about route and station alternatives for light rail. Stop by anytime to talk with the project team and submit your comments. Meetings also are scheduled for Mountlake Terrace (Aug. 14), Seattle/Northgate (Aug. 20) and Shoreline (Aug. 22).

If you can’t make it to an open house go online during your lunch hour on Sept. 13 for a Tech Talk panel discussion.
