The Lynnwood and Meadowdale girls basketball teams both will be playing in semifinal district tournament games this weekend.

Top ranked 4A Lynnwood (20-1) faces Edmonds District rival Edmonds-Woodway (14-7) at 6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 14 at Mountlake Terrace High School.

The Royals beat the Warriors twice during the regular season. The first game was a rout 60-15 and the second was somewhat closer, 76-48.

Meadowdale (8-13), the Wesco 3A South’s No. 4 seed, upset North No. 1 seed Everett 51-45 in a first round game on Wednesday night. The Mavericks take on Edmonds District rival Mountlake Terrace (17-4) at 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 15, at Lynnwood High School.

The Hawks defeated the Mavericks twice during the regular season – 40-36 early on and 48-32 last month.

Both contests are winner-to-regional games. The losers fall into the consolation bracket and still have an opportunity to advance.
