Lynnwood’s police and fire departments have started collecting diapers for at-risk mothers. Collection bins are located in the police department (193rd Street SW and 44th Avenue W.) and fire station #15 (188th Street SW and 44th Avenue W.)
Newborn and size one are the most needed.
Donations will go to Step by Step, which works to ensure mothers deliver a healthy baby, embrace positive parenting and establish a safe home. This is done through home visits, mentoring and community connections, helping with transitional housing and educating the mothers with parenting and life skills.
Step By Step has helped more than 6,500 high-risk families in the Puget Sound area since 1997.
