Edmonds police are searching for a suspect who stabbed a 40-year-old Domino’s Pizza employee after he interrupted a car prowl in the restaurant parking lot in the 22900 block of Highway 99 late Saturday night.
According to Edmonds police spokesman Sgt. Mark Marsh, the suspect was stabbed in the abdomen when he confronted the suspect around 11:20 p.m. in the Brentwood Plaza strip mall parking lot at 22914 Highway 99 in Edmonds. The suspect fled on foot, and a K9 track by Edmonds police — with assistance from Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace and Mill Creek police, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington State Patrol — was unable to locate him
Witnesses called 9-1-1 and Edmonds Police and Fire District 1 aid and medic units immediately responded, Marsh said. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and was taken into surgery almost immediately upon arrival. He is reportedly “doing OK,” Marsh said, and police detectives planned to interview him Sunday.
Witnesses described the suspect as a black male in his mid-20s, dressed in dark clothing with a backpack.
