Lynnwood Police Blotter: April 1-6, 2019

April 1

204th Street Southwest/60th Avenue West: A man was arrested for a suspected DUI involving marijuana after running a red light. Charges for the DUI are pending the results of a blood test.

16500 block 36th Avenue West: A man was arrested during a traffic stop for multiple warrants out of Mount Vernon and Coupeville. While searching his vehicle, police found multiple fixed-blade knives, an airsoft gun modeled after a handgun and drug paraphernalia.

4300 block 196th Street Southwest: A man was arrested for indecent exposure after exposing himself and pressing himself against the glass door at Jack in the Box.

6900 block 216th Street Southwest: A man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after police saw him try to discard two loaded syringes he was preparing to inject himself with.

6500 block 192nd Place Southwest: A man reported his wife’s vehicle had been prowled. The vehicle had been left unlocked, but nothing was reported stolen. There were signs the glove compartment had been rummaged through.

4100 block 194th Street Southwest: A man reported his vehicle had been prowled in the parking garage near his office. He reported a knife, baton and backpack valued at $200 were stolen.

3200 block Alderwood Mall Boulevard: A woman reported a case of fraud after someone opened an AT&T account in her name and purchased four iPhones and charged a $500 activation fee. The total amount charged to the account was $4,500.

April 2

19600 block Scriber Lake Road: A man was cited for smoking marijuana in a parked vehicle at Wilcox Park.

6200 block 196th Street Southwest: A woman was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant for assault out of Redmond. While searching her, police found a prescription-only pill and other drug paraphernalia.

18600 block 33rd Avenue West: A man attempted to break into a cash register at J.C. Penney using a crowbar, but was unsuccessful.

20200 block Cedar Valley Road: A man reported someone removed the catalytic converter from his vehicle. He said it will cost $700 to replace.

4000 block 198th Street Southwest: A man was arrested for stealing a tool valued at $6 from Goodwill.

April 3

4900 block 200th Street Southwest: A man reported his vehicle — a green Nissan truck — was stolen from the Beaver Creek apartment complex parking lot.

19200 block Highway 99: A theft was reported at Central Welding Supply after two women were reported to have stolen two Smith regulator packs valued at $300.

19700 block Highway 99: A man who had previously been trespassed from Gentle Dental was arrested for loitering in the parking lot. The man was also charged with resisting arrest and obstruction of justice.

3000 block 196th Street Southwest: A man who was trespassed from Extended Stay Hotel for acting erratically was arrested after police found 0.32 grams of heroin and other drug paraphernalia while searching him.

4900 block 200th Street Southwest: A man reported his passport had been stolen from his home. He said he was been looking for it for months and believes it may have been a former roommate.

Maple Road/37th Place West: A man was arrested for DUI after police pulled him over for speeding. The man admitted to having been drinking.

April 4

5200 block 196th Street Southwest: Police found seven juveniles smoking marijuana in Wilcox Park after the park’s closing hours. Parents were notified and the minors were escorted home.

18800 block 47th Avenue West: A man reported his work van had been prowled overnight while it was parked in front of his home. The van’s rear window was shattered and three Hitachi power nailers valued at $300 were reported stolen.

5200 block 180th Street Southwest: The owner of a tile company reported someone stole 29 tool items valued at $10,675 from his storage unit at Public Storage. The lock was reported to have been broken off. Police suspect a man with a neighboring storage unit is responsible.

5100 block 188th Street Southwest: A man reported his vehicle — a 2012 silver Toyota Tundra — was stolen from his driveway while it was warming up. His work bag with his laptop and passports were inside the truck.

19400 block Alderwood Mall Parkway: A Barnes & Noble employee reported a theft after discovering someone had removed and left several price tags from vinyl records valued at $1,114.72.

17200 block Highway 99: An employee at Value Village reported a counterfeit $50 bill was used to buy a power drill.

April 5

4800 block 168th Street Southwest: A man reported his vehicle had been prowled while it was parked in front of his home. The rear passenger window of the truck had been smashed in and there was a dent on the vehicle’s front and rear driver-side doors. Nothing was reported stolen and the damage was valued at $500 for the window and $1,000 to fix the doors.

21000 block 49th Avenue West: A woman who applied for a consolidation loan online reported fraud after she paid $1,050 in gift cards to cover charges required for the loan.

18800 block 41st Place West: A man reported someone stole the hard top from his vehicle while it was parked in his brother’s driveway. The hard top was for a 1997 Mazda Miata MX5 and was valued at $1,500.

18500 block 33rd Avenue West: Employees at Ross Dress For Less reported a man and woman were shoplifting. The employee said she recognized the two as previous shoplifters. The woman was arrested for shoplifting items valued at $87.98 and possession of drug paraphernalia. The man was arrested for warrants for theft and possession of drug paraphernalia out of Seattle and Marysville.

April 6

5600 block 186th Place Southwest: A man reported he saw a man attempting to break into his neighbor’s home through the back sliding glass door. The suspect left when he realized he had been seen.

20700 block Highway 99: A man was arrested for shoplifting food items valued at $18.25 from Walgreens.

19800 block 48th Avenue West: A man was arrested for trespassing at the Woodland Greens Apartments.

20700 block Highway 99: A woman was arrested for shoplifting cosmetics from Walgreens.

19800 block 50th Avenue West: A man reported ihs vehicle — a Honda CR-V — was stolen from the parking lot of the Beaver Cove apartment complex. He said the vehicle was locked at the time of the theft.

3000 block 184th Street Southwest: A man was arrested for shoplifting clothing valued at $170 from J.C. Penney.

18700 block 33rd Avenue West: A woman reported her vehicle — a red, 1994 Volkswagen Cabriolet — was stolen from the Alderwood Mall Parking lot. She said she was in Claim Jumper at the time of the theft and the vehicle was unlocked. Two male suspects were seen on video surveillance stealing the vehicle.
