Lynnwood police blotter: Sept. 5-12

Sept. 5
A burglary was reported in the 3000 block of 184th Street Southwest. Items were taken from a kiosk. The suspect was arrested.

A vehicle was reported stolen from the 16800 block of 36th Avenue West.

A vehicle prowl was reported in the 5900 block of 186th Place Southwest. A work van was broken into and several tools were taken, as well as some change.

A theft was reported in the 3700 block of 196th street Southwest. A helmet and motorcycle seat cover were taken.

Sept. 6
A backpack was stolen from the 7500 block of 208th Street Southwest. A girl had left her backpack lying in a field and saw the suspect ride up on a bicycle and take it. The backpack also contained a wallet with ID, bank card, car keys and $4 cash, among other items.

A wallet was reported stolen from the 4600 block of 176th Street Southwest. The victim is unsure when her wallet went missing, but she received fraud alerts on her phone. The wallet contained multiple bank cards, a social security card, a driver’s license, $100 cash and a checkbook.

Sept. 7
A theft was reported in the 2800 block of 196th Street Southwest. Several bottles of alcohol were stolen and recovered after the suspect dropped the basket and ran off. The recovered merchandise was valued at a total of $331.80. The suspect was not located.

A shoplifter was reported in the 4600 block of 196th Street Southwest. Cosmetic items valued at a total of $152.62 were stolen and recovered. The suspect was booked and released.

Sept. 8
A theft was reported in the 18300 block of Alderwood Mall Parkway. A pair of children’s pants, valued at $15, was stolen and recovered.

A vehicle was reported stolen from the 18700 block of 33rd Avenue West.

Two shoplifters were reported in the 18100 block of of 33rd Avenue West. $44.98 worth of medications and $89.36 worth of additional merchandise were concealed in a backpack and a handbag and taken from a store. One suspect was cited and released and the other was booked for theft.

A vehicle was reported stolen from the 18100 block of 36th Avenue West.

Sept. 9
A counterfeit $20 bill was turned over to police in the 19500 block of Alderwood Mall Parkway. It is unknown when it was used, so no suspect information was available.

A vehicle stolen from Everett was recovered in the 3000 block of 184th Street Southwest.

A vehicle prowl in progress was reported in the 3000 block of 184th Street Southwest. Two suspects were seen breaking into a vehicle parked there and taking several items. They then got into another vehicle and drove away. The witness described the vehicle and provided a license plate number. An officer saw the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The suspects were cited.

A man was arrested for DUI in the 600 block of Front Street in Mukilteo. Lynnwood officers were assisting with Target Zero DUI emphasis patrols in the area. A vehicle was stopped in the way of a shuttle bus. Officers tried to get the driver to move the vehicle several times, but he did not move. Eventually he was contacted and officers immediately smelled intoxicants. He failed a few field sobriety tests and later blew a breath sample, revealing a 0.217 percent blood alcohol concentration. He was arrested.

A man was arrested for DUI in the 4200 block of 196th Street Southwest. The driver was seen crossing the dividing lane multiple times. He was pulled over and performed field sobriety tests. He offered a breath sample, revealing a 0.166 blood alcohol concentration. He was arrested for DUI.

Sept. 10
A vehicle theft was reported in the 6400 block of 200th Street Southwest.

A vehicle prowl was reported in the 19400 block of 71st Place Southwest. A stroller and softball equipment, valued at a total of $750, were stolen.

A vehicle prowl was reported in the 18100 block of 36th Avenue West. Clothing and numerous items of paperwork were stolen.

An incident of assault was reported in the 6600 block of 210th Street Southwest. A woman was reportedly stabbed by a man while walking home from work. Blood was found on the victim’s leg, but it did not appear to be actively bleeding. No blood or other evidence was found in the area that the assault reportedly happened. Someone close to the victim later told officers he believed she was lying to keep her from getting fired for being late to work.

Sept. 11
An incident of fraud was reported in the 6900 block of 216th Street Southwest. A false cell phone account with eight phone lines was created in the victim’s name.

A shoplifter was reported in the 18100 block of 33rd Avenue West. Electronics valued at $309.98 were stolen and recovered. A woman admitted to taking the items. She also had prescription pills in her purse that she did not have a prescription for. She was charged with theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.

An incident of fraud was reported in the 6600 block of 196th Street Southwest. $2,000 was apparently taken from an organization’s account. A possible suspect was seen on the bank’s surveillance video.

Sept. 12
Disposed yellow plastic security tags were found on a sidewalk in the 3700 block of 191st Place Southwest.

A woman reported a suspicious circumstance at the Lynnwood Police Department. She said she believed her computer repairman had installed some sort of spyware to watch her through her computer’s webcam. She agreed to bring the computer to a different computer technician to see if they could detect any spyware or if anything else was wrong with the computer.

An assault was reported inside the Lynnwood Jail. Two inmates got into a fight after one apparently accidentally bumped into the other. The aggressor was determined based on video surveillance footage and charged with fourth degree assault.

A theft was reported in the 4300 block of Alderwood Mall Blvd. An electric toothbrush was stolen from a hotel room there.
