Lynnwood police investigating fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian collision on 188th St SW

A Lynnwood pedestrian in her 50s died early Thursday night after she was struck by an SUV in the 4600 block of 188th Street Southwest.

According to Lynnwood police, the woman was crossing the street when she was struck at 6:15 p.m. by a Honda CRV — driven by a woman in her mid-20s — traveling west on 188th Street Southwest. After the woman was struck, she was carried on the vehicle as it continued westbound on 188th Street Southwest, where it eventually struck the garage of house in the 4800 block.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.  A man in his 60s living in house — who was in the garage at the time of the collision, was injured and has been transported to the hospital.

The CRV driver was also injured, although the extent of her injuries was unknown, police said. She was also transported to the hospital. Lynnwood traffic officers will be on the scene for some time conducting their investigation into the incident, police said.
