Lynnwood police officers assisted Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies Tuesday night, Dec. 11, in locating a 33-year-old Kent man suspected of setting a mobile home on fire in the 15900 block of Highway 99.
According to Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Courtney O’Keefe, deputies arrested the man following an arson investigation. Multiple witnesses called 911 around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, reporting they heard gun shots and saw a mobile home on fire. South County Fire responded to the scene and located a mobile home fully-engulfed in flames. The home was unoccupied and there were no injuries.
During the investigation, the fire marshal determined the cause of the fire to be arson.
Deputies located five shell casings outside the mobile home. Assisting Lynnwood police officers spotted the suspect nearby, walking on Highway 99. The man was arrested and booked into Snohomish County Jail for first-degree arson, unlawful possession of a firearm and aiming and discharging a dangerous weapon.
