Lynnwood Police need help identifying a driver from a hit-and-run that happened just after noon today in the 16800 block of 56th Avenue West.
A 22-year-old woman was crossing the street near Meadowdale Neighborhood Park when she was hit.
After hitting the woman, the male driver got out and looked at her but then left the scene without calling for help, according to one witness. Police say he left southbound on 56th Avenue West then east on 169th to 52nd Avenue West, where he continued northbound.
The suspect driver is described as a 23- to 35-years-old white male about 5’10” to 6’ tall with short cropped or buzz cut hair, wearing a red shirt. He was driving a blue Jeep Cherokee or SUV, unknown license plate.
The female victim was able to get into her car and drove to a nearby restaurant, where she met up with a relative who then drove her to the Steven’s Hospital emergency room. She suffered a fractured right ankle and other injuries to her legs.
Anyone with any information should call Officer Savell in the Lynnwood Police Traffic Section at 425-670-5600.
