Lynnwood Police respond after man pulled a gun on his neighbor

Lynnwood Police responded Friday afternoon to reports of a neighbor pulling a gun on his neighbor near the intersection of 54th Avenue West and 204th Street Southwest.

Deputy Police Chief Jim Nelson said disturbance began when a group of three men in their 20s were shooting a BB gun in their yard. One of the BBs hit their neighbor’s house. The neighbor, a man in his 60s, then game outside and confronted them. An argument ensued. One of the younger men reportedly got animated and approached his neighbor in a threatening manner.

The neighbor had a concealed weapons permit and a gun. He pulled it out when he felt as though he was about to be attacked. Everyone calmed down and went inside their respective houses with no further interaction.

Lynnwood police officers were then called to the scene and spoke to all involved parties. After speaking to everyone involved and examining both properties, no arrests were made.

“Neither side wanted to pursue charges,” Nelson said. “Everyone agreed they didn’t handle (the situation) well.”
