Lynnwood police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed two banks near 196th Street Southwest Tuesday morning.
At 11:33 a.m., Lynnwood police received a call from KeyBank — located in the 19800 block of 44th Avenue West — that an adult male implied he had a weapon with the intent to rob the bank, according to LPD Commander Sean Doty. However, it does not appear at this time that the suspect obtained any money from KeyBank, he added.
Minutes later, Lynnwood police were notified that the suspect crossed the street and robbed Wells Fargo Bank, leaving the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash, Doty said.
In both cases, the suspect implied he had a weapon, but none was seen and no injuries were reported.
Doty said police are “actively investigating” the incidents.
