Lynnwood police urge drivers to avoid 164th Southwest due to downed power pole

A portion of 164th Street Southwest in Lynnwood is completely closed due to a very large power pole across the roadway, and Lynnwood police are urging drivers to stay away from the area.

Police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions said that 164th Street Southwest between 36th Avenue West and 168th (and 44th Ave. West) is likely to be closed until after midnight tonight, Dec. 20, while Snohomish County PUD crews deal with the downed pole and power lines.

The driver of a full-size pickup truck ran into the pole just before 2:30 p.m. this afternoon. The driver and his adult male passenger weren’t injured in the collision. The driver, a 31-year-0ld Snohomish man, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
