Lynnwood Rec Center parking expansion to be considered at Monday’s City Council meeting

great dealThe Lynnwood City Council is scheduled to consider a proposal by City staff to expand parking for the Rec Center at Monday’s meeting.

The Public Works Department is requesting approval to enter into a contract with Skillings Connolly, Inc. for engineering design of the proposed Recreation Center Parking Lot Expansion. An existing single family residential lot would be converted into a small parking lot of up to 35 stalls. The parking lot expansion is necessary to provide additional parking stalls to help with peak usage of the Recreation Center. The lot is located north and west of the Recreation Center and west of Fire Station 15.

The Council is expected to approve the creation of an information technology department and the hiring of an information technology director.

Also on the agenda is funding for the Water Line Replacement Program, consultant services to assist the City in preparing design documents for the BikeLink Improvement Project and unforeseen expenses for the 33rd Avenue W Extension Project (Costco Bypass Road along the west and north perimeter of the Lynnwood Place development).

A Public Hearing on the CityCenter Apartments also is scheduled and the Council may take action on a development agreement following the Public Hearing.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 19100 44th Ave. W., Lynnwood.
