Lynnwood Rotary awards $62,000 in scholarships to local high school students

The !8 scholarship recipients with Rotary Club of Lynnwood president Sue Venable, Lynnwood mayor Nicola Smith and Rotary Club of Lynnwood scholarship committee chair Marilla Sargent.

The Rotary Club of Lynnwood last week awarded $62,000 in scholarships to Edmonds School District students. Part of the scholarship money comes from a Martha Lake Community Club donation to the Rotary Club several years ago.

Seventeen of the 20 scholarship winners were present to receive their award at the Rotary Club of Lynnwood’s membership meeting April 24. Rotary Club President Sue Venable and Lynnwood Mayor Nicola Smith greeted the students as they were announced by Scholarship Committee Chair Marilla Sargent. The scholarship recipients from left to right are:

On May 8, the remaining three scholarships will be awarded to: Meg Roberts of Mountlake Terrace High School, Valeriya Kozhushina of Lynnwood High School and Siyu Lu of the University of Washington, a former Edmonds School District student and previous Rotary Club of Lynnwood scholarship winner.
