Lynnwood Rotary gave time and supplies to incoming kindergarten students who will be attending school this year as part of the WAKids program.

Forty Lynnwood Rotarians put together 850 student packets that contained note pads, letter and number cards, pencils with grips and counting beans last week. They will be distributed between the 10 schools participating in the WAKids program.

“The Lynnwood Rotary Club is committed to supporting all of the school district efforts towards early learning. This is one way as Rotarians we can provide support to our youngest learners in the community,” Sue Venable, President Elect of the Lynnwood Rotary said.

The WA Kids program is taking place at the following elementary schools: Beverly, Chase Lake, College Place, Cedar Valley, Lynndale, Lynnwood, Meadowdale, Mountlake Terrace, Oak Heights and Spruce.

Family Connection meetings with kindergarten teachers and families are taking place this week. During this time, families may ask questions; learn more about kindergarten and how to help.
