Lynnwood seeking volunteers for Arts Commission, Library Board


The City of Lynnwood is currently accepting applications to fill vacancies on the Arts Commission and the Library Board.

The City of Lynnwood has several Boards and Commissions which were created by City Ordinance to serve as advisory bodies to the city administration, the Mayor and the City Council. Commissioners serve three year terms, must live in Lynnwood and be a registered voter. No experience necessary, just a strong desire to make a difference in your community.

About the Arts Commission
The Lynnwood Arts Commission supports the arts to enrich the quality of life in Lynnwood. This seven member Commission plays an active role in advocating for the cultural arts including visual and performing arts, and arts education through partnerships with businesses, schools, community organizations and individuals. The Commission develops and maintains the public art collection and also advises City leadership on arts issues and works on marketing and fund-raising for programs.

Lynnwood Arts Commissioners advise city leadership on arts issues and play an active role in advocating for the cultural arts including the performing, visual and literary arts. Each member serves a three-year term and are appointed by the Mayor, with the approval of City Council. Visit the Arts Commision webpage.

About the Library Board
The Library Board serves in an advisory capacity, focusing specifically on facility issues of the Lynnwood Library building. Members have drafted policies on the use of the library meeting room, public display space, and bulletin boards, advising both the library staff and Mayor and City Council on these issues.
