Lynnwood lacrosse team to play for state championship

No need to look any further than Lynnwood to find a championship team.

The Lynnwood Tigers, a high school lacrosse team with players from Lynnwood, Meadowdale, Edmonds-Woodway and Mountlake Terrace high schools, will play for the state title this weekend.

Lynnwood (15-3-0) will take on San Juan (14-2-0) in the Division II state championship, 5 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Seattle.  It’s just the second state title appearance for Lynnwood, which fell to Eastlake in the 2006 title game. Lynnwood already beat San Juan this year in the season opener.

Lynnwood is led by the league’s top two goal scorers, senior midfielders Alex Tindall and Trey Knowles. In 13 regular season games apiece, the two combined for a total of 146 points.

Individual tickets for the full day are $8 and available at the gate.
