The Silver Creek Church is hosting a Tree Lighting Festival from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Lynnwood Food Bank, 5320 176th St. SW., Lynnwood.
At Monday’s City Council meeting, Mayor Nicola Smith said that she’s heard a rumor that Santa Claus will be arriving on a fire truck to visit with children. From 5:15-6:30 four public school musical groups will be performing. The City of Lynnwood is getting into the spirit of the holidays and invites the public to participate by bringing food donations to the lobby of City Hall (19100 44th. Ave W.) There also is a Giving Tree in the lobby where people can donate clothing gifts to the Neighbors in Need. The Lynnwood Fire Department (18800 44th Ave. W.) is collecting coats for its Operation Warm drive and the Lynnwood Recreation Center (18900 44th Ave. W.) is collecting money for its Recreation Benefit Fund.
