Lynnwood wins tournament; Lady Mavericks, Warriors go 4-1 at Summer Shootout

Teams from the Edmonds School District had strong showings in the sixth annual Edmonds Summer Shootout tournament over the weekend, with the Lynnwood Royals girls basketball team leading the pack. The Royals captured the championship in the 47-team tourney.

Lynnwood beat the Todd Beamer Titans 48-25 in the championship game played at Meadowdale High School. It is the second straight Summer Shootout title for the Royals.

Edmonds-Woodway made it to the tourney’s quarterfinals, but succumbed to Wesco League rival Glacier Peak 51-49 on Sunday; the Warriors finished the tournament with a record of 4-1. Meadowdale won its pool, but lost in the first round of “Gold Bracket” play to Bishop Blanchet 48-21. The Mavericks finished at 4-1.

The Mountlake Terrace Hawks finished 2-2 after falling to Ballard 40-19 on Sunday.You can see all the varsity teams bracket play results from Saturday and Sunday here.
