Lynnwood woman sues Canadian bus operator, driver over deadly Oregon crash

A Lynnwood woman still fighting for her life after a deadly Dec. 30 bus crash in Oregon has, along with her husband, filed a federal lawsuit against the bus driver and operator.

Our news partner, the Seattle Times, reports that Eun Sook Uhm, 74, survived the crash that killed 9 and injured 39, but has been in physical agony and barely able to breath since the crash, according to her son, Dan Uhm.

The lawsuit for unspecified damages against British Columbia-based Mi Joo Tour & Travel and the driver involved in the crash, Haeng-Kyu Hwang, alleges the same violations the United States Department of Transportation found earlier this month: The driver had been driving more hours than legally allowed the week of the crash and that he had been driving too fast for the icy conditions on Interstate 84 the day of the crash.
