Lynnwood’s Pivec sets course record at Edmonds District Cross County championships

Lynnwood’s Mikayla Pivec set a course record en route to a first-place finish in the Edmonds District Girls Cross Country championships Thursday at Lynndale Park.

Pivec completed the 5,000-meter course in 16 minutes, 47 seconds. Mountlake Terrace edged Lynnwood 39-41 to capture the team title. Edmonds-Woodway (45) was third and Meadowdale (103) was fourth.

In the boys race, Edmonds-Woodway’s  Miler Haller won in 14:46. Mountlake Terrace won the team championship, scoring 25 points. Edmonds-Woodway (43) was second and was followed by Meadowdale (59) and Lynnwood (106).
