A fire caused more than $350,000 damage to a house in unincorporated Lynnwood this morning.
Neighbors and passersby called 9-1-1 around 11:20 a.m. after seeing smoke and flames coming from the two-story house at the end of a long driveway in the 14400 block of Madison Way.
“When the first firefighters arrived, most of the house was already engulfed in flames, making it unsafe for crews to enter the structure,” said Leslie Hynes, spokesperson for Snohomish County Fire District 1.
About 25 firefighters from Fire District 1 and Lynnwood attacked the fire from outside the house and had the flames under control in about 20 minutes. They remained on the scene into the afternoon to extinguish hot spots.
No one was inside the house at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.
The fire left the house uninhabitable. The Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
