Man rescued from opioid overdose with Naloxone

A Lynnwood police officer saved a man from overdosing on opioids by using Naloxone on Wednesday.

A call came in around 1:35 p.m. for police to assist a medical call in the 5600 block of 178th Place Southwest. A man in his 30s was non-responsive at the residence due to an apparent opioid overdose, according to Lynnwood Police Cmdr. Sean Doty.

“Officer Z. Byrd was one of the first to arrive on scene and he administered his issued Naloxone and performed CPR until fire (crews) arrived,” Doty said. “Fire took over and administered additional Naloxone and the subject was revived.”
