MyNNNA man was taken into custody Tuesday evening following a standoff with police.

Lynnwood Police and SWAT team personnel responded to a report of a man who had barricaded himself in an apartment in the 6100 block of 208th St. SW.

Our news partner, the Seattle Times, reports that the 43-year-old suspect was waving a gun at police from the doorway, said Shannon Sessions, spokesperson for the Lynnwood Police Department.

A neighbor of the suspect called police when screams started coming from the apartment. The man met arriving Lynnwood police officers at his door with a weapon, Sessions said. Police blocked off the area and evacuated the neighboring apartments, calling in the SWAT team to try to get the man out of the apartment safely.
