Possible live ammunition, World War II grenades prompts temporary lockdown at Lynnwood Civic Justice Center

policeLynnwood Police reported that about 12:20 p.m., a well-meaning resident who had been doing some house-cleaning at home discovered a box containing unknown ammunition and what appeared to be two World War II-style hand grenades.

The individual brought them to the Lynnwood Police Department for disposal. Out of an abundance of caution, the Lynnwood Civic Justice Center, located at 19321 44thAve W, was placed on a temporary lockdown until bomb squad personnel could safely remove the devices.

After the bomb squad safely removed the devices, the building was reopened at 1:30 p.m.

If you discover possible live ammunition or explosives do not attempt to move or transport it.  Stay away from the area and call 9-1-1.
