As we reported last month, Martha Lake Elementary is in the running for a $15,000 grant to buy a new playground. Today we got word that they are very close to winning.
“We are in 6th place, and the top five vote getters win a grant for their playground. Voting ends May 10, and we’re only a few percentage points out of 5th position, and really need to get the word out to support our fourth graders’ video and to support a new playground at our school,” said Katie Amodei, PTA Volunteer.
You vote online once per day. The grant would replace old playground equipment that’s being removed because it doesn’t meet safety standards.
The students produced a video as their entry into the competition.
