The Meadowdale Mavericks got roughed up on the baseball diamond Friday, but the Mavs’ boys soccer team picked up another early-season victory on the soccer pitch.

Cascade Bruins’ pitchers Gage Davis and Joe McBride combined for a one-hitter as the Bruins stifled the Mavericks 12-2 in a mercy-rule shortened non-conference game played at Cascade High School in Everett.

The Mavs boys soccer team ran their overall record to 4-1-0 with a 5-0 win over the visiting Stanwood Spartans in a Wesco League match played at Edmonds Stadium.
