A fire at an apartment complex in the 4900 block of 168th Street SW caused $160,000 in damage.
The fire broke out in the kitchen of a unit Tuesday at 12:48 p.m. Dozens of crews, including four engines, responded to the scene. The entire unit sustained heat and smoke damage.
One person was taken to Swedish Hospital for smoke inhalation. A cat did not survive the fire. Red Cross is helping the displaced family.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
