A concession stand will once again operate at the Meadowdale playfields.
Tonight the Lynnwood City Council is expected to approve a new vendor to take over the concession building that’s sat empty for more than two years. The previous vendor retired in 2007. Since that time vending machines have provided snacks and beverages for the public.
“We will be offering the usual fun snacks at the stand such as hot dogs, sausages, nachos, pretzels, etc. We will also be offering some healthy alternatives: fresh fruit, juices, low-fat chips and other items as requested,” the new vendor told us in an e-mail.
The stand will be open February through October, with additional dates in November for league games and other special events. The concessionaire will pay the city 10 percent of the gross revenue.
