Meadowdale graduate, EdCC player selected in Major League Baseball draft

Meadowdale High School graduate Sam Triece and Edmonds Community College’s Alex Kisena were selected in this week’s Major League Baseball draft.

Triece, who played at Edmonds Commuunity College in 2012, was taken by Tampa Bay in the 10th round of the draft (298th overall pick). After a one-year stint with the Tritons where he was 4-0 with a 1.54 ERA, Triece moved on to Washington State. The Edmonds native made 22 relief appearances and struck out 25 in 26 innings for the Cougars. He led the bullpen with a 2.42 ERA.

Alec Kisena, a Jackson High School graduate, was tabbed by the Tigers in the 16th round (490th overall pick). The right-handed pitcher went 8-2 in 2015 and earned all-region and All-NWAC nods.
