Meadowdale High School reopened today after an online threat forced the closure on Friday.
Police received information late Thursday night that someone claiming to be a Meadowdale student was threatening to take a gun to school and shoot people there. The threat was made anonymously in an online forum.
Principal Dale Cote posted the following message on the school’s website this morning:
I look forward to the return of students and staff to our school community today. Since Friday, we have not received any new information from law enforcement. I know some of you are expressing concern. I am meeting with staff before school starts and as a precautionary measure Lynnwood Police will have a presence on campus to help further alleviate concerns. We all share a concern for student safety. We cannot, however, justify a prolonged closure of MDHS. We believe it is safe to return to school today.
Detectives and FBI agents are continuing to work the case but so far no suspect has been identified.Anyone with information is encouraged to call Detective Scott Dilworth at 425-670-5619.
