ASB: I’m the Executive Secretary this year. I am very passionate about leadership and making the MHS community a place where everyone feels safe and excited to learn. I cherish the relationships I have formed with my friends and with the amazing staff here. They have made my high school experience a truly worthy one, and I would like to thank them for that.
Athletics: I play on the junior varsity softball team because I love the game but have not dedicated my time to softball for the past three years, so varsity was a far reach for me. It is so much fun!!
Community Service: For ASB, I helped with the food drive; I volunteer at Youthcare, a homeless shelter for teens.
Culminating Project: I am an intern at a company called X2 Biosystems. They make their own hardware and software to monitor potential concussions in athletes. I work with an engineer to test the adhesive on the product, collect and interpret the data and collaborate with employees to discuss necessary improvements. This provides me an insight into what it is like to work at a start-up engineering company.
Current Employment: I nanny for multiple families weekly. I love working with kids because they are so inquisitive about everything and I love to help them learn. They help me to see life from a different perspective.
Future Educational Goals: I want to attend a four-year university in Southern California, possibly Chapman University or Scripps College and study mathematics and a little bit of business too. I wish to stay active in leadership while at college, because that is very important to me.
Future Career Goals: I am looking to be an engineer, although I am not sure which kind. I am just very interested in mathematics and how it can be applied to tangible things. I also hope to work or intern, while in college, for a non-profit that focuses on womens’ education. My long- term goal is to find a job where I can be of service to people while pursuing a successful career.
Anything else we should know? I love my family more than anything in the world. They’re my inspiration and they push me to be my best.
