Meadowdale schools locked down after nearby robbery

Meadowdale High School

Meadowdale high, middle and elementary schools, as well as Beverly Elementary, were locked down after a nearby espresso stand was robbed Friday morning.

Police say a teenage boy robbed the stand at the corner of 168th Street SW and 52nd Avenue West at knife-point shortly before 9:30 a.m., and then ran from the scene.

Officers pursued him through several backyards before seeing him enter Meadowdale High School.

By this time the school was already locked down and he was stopped at the office. Shortly thereafter, he was arrested inside the school.

A police spokesperson says the suspect is a student at the school.

No students were hurt and the lock-down was lifted about 10:30 a.m.
