Michael’s, Aaron Brothers suffer credit card data breach

my newsMichael’s and its subsidiary Aaron Brothers disclosed that they have experienced a data breach involving their payment (credit/debit) card systems.

Both the Lynnwood Michael’s and Aaron Brothers are on the list of affected stores.

CEO Chuck Rubin said in a letter posted online that the affected systems contained certain payment card information, such as card number and expiration date. The dates of the breach for Michael’s are between May 8, 2013 and Jan. 27, 2014. The dates for Aaron Brothers are between June 26, 2013 and Feb. 27, 2014.

The company is offering identity protection and credit monitoring services and fraud assistance services for 12 months at no cost to affected Michael’s and Aaron Brothers customers.
