Michael’s warns customers of possible security breach

Michael’s, a national arts and craft chain with 1,040 stores including Lynnwood, has informed customers that there has been possible fraudulent activity on some U.S. payment cards that had been used in its stores.

The chain said it may have experienced a data security attack. Michael’s is working with federal law enforcement and is conducting an investigation with the help of third-party data security experts.

Michael’s recommends that customers remain vigilant by reviewing account statements for unauthorized charges. The company said that if it finds as part of its investigation that any of its customers were affected, the company will offer identity projection and credit monitoring services at no cost.
