A Lynnwood Police K-9 helped track down a suspected car thief last night in Mountlake Terrace. Here’s the info from MLTnews.com:

Last night around 11pm a Mountlake Terrace police officer attempted a traffic stop near 220th/I-5. The vehicle accelerated and due to traffic conditions, the officer did not pursue. SNOCOM dispatch notified the officer the the vehicle was stolen.

A short time later, the vehicle was located in the area of 53rd and 213th (just around the corner from 7-11) with damage to the undercarriage. The driver was seen running from the vehicle. Containment was set up in the area and Lynnwood K-9 assisted with a track where the suspect was located and taken into custody. The suspect also had outstanding warrants.
