No one was injured in a fire that heavily damaged a mobile home in south Snohomish County this afternoon.

Neighbors called 9-1-1 at 4:25 p.m. after they spotted smoke coming from a double-wide mobile home at Carriage Club Estates in the 13300 block of Highway 99 north of Lynnwood.

“Smoke was rolling out the eaves when firefighters arrived,” said Leslie Hynes, public information officer for Snohomish County Fire District 1. “The initial report was the resident was still inside, so firefighters quickly entered the mobile home and conducted a search. We later learned the resident left earlier in the day and she was not home when the fire broke out.”

It took firefighters about 20 minutes to get the fire under control. The fire caused heavy damage throughout the mobile home and displaced the woman who lived there. Support 7 is offering her assistance.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office.
