Motorcyclist killed on Highway 99

Update: The motorcyclist who was killed Sunday night has been identified as a 34-year-old man from Sultan. Police say he died when his speeding motorcycle collided with a Toyota Tundra pickup truck that was entering the road from a business. The 51-year-old man in the truck wasn’t hurt.

Police say speed was a factor but don’t know yet whether drugs or alcohol were involved.

Witnesses say there may have been another motorcycle in the area near the time of the collision. Anyone with information regarding the second motorcycle should call Officer Stephen Showalter at 425-670-5600.

A motorcyclist was killed in a collision on Highway 99 Sunday night.

It happened about 7 p.m. near 207th Street SW. Few details were immediately available, but Lynnwood police say the accident involved the motorcycle and a truck. Officers were interviewing witnesses at the scene. No word yet if any charges will be filed.

Southbound Highway 99 was shut down during the investigation and traffic was detoured onto 204th Street SW.
