It’s almost time for the annual Edmonds Classic Car Show, with over 300 automobiles on display on the streets of downtown Edmonds. The event will run from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8 and features a variety of free events during the day for the entire family to enjoy — including a visit from Radio Disney!
Activities include:
– A pancake breakfast at North Sound Community Church, 4th Avenue North and Bell Street, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
-Cartoons screened at the Edmonds Theater, Main Street, by fountain, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
– Radio Disney Seattle from noon-4p.m. with games, giveaways, crafts, and exclusive prizes, including the AM 1250 Road Crew performance where you and your friends could be put to the test.
-The Edmonds Historical Museum (5th Avenue North by the fountain) exhibit “Cruisin’ the Washington Fossil Freeway” and their popular Train Room.
In addition, the Kids World at Dayton place will feature the Frog Zone and IGA Grocery Store Coloring contest. A Pinewood Derby track will be set up for kids to bring their own pinewood derby cars to race. Pinewood Derby car kits will be available for kids free as long as supplies last. Kids can bring their favorite Hot Wheels car to race on the track too.
Shane Cobane will return to perform his Elvis Presley tribute and Billy Mac of Duelling Piano fame performs on the fountain stage from 2 to 4 p.m.
The Edmonds Lions Club will have be selling Food Bank Raffle tickets, and will have a barrel for donations of non-perishable food items. All the proceeds will benefit the local food bank.
While the public enjoys the cars on display, the owners will be awaiting the decision of the judges to see who will win the coveted “Best of Show” jacket as well as numerous other awards — all announced starting at 4:30 p.m. at the fountain.
