New Lynnwood Costco expected to open in August

my newsWork is proceeding on the new Costco at Lynnwood Place and the grand opening looks like it will be this summer.

During Tuesday’s Edmonds School District Board of Directors meeting, Executive Director of Business and Operations Stewart Mhyre said he expects Costco to be open at the end of August or possibly earlier.

The Edmonds School District owns the 40-acre Lynnwood Place site and leases it to Cypress Equities.

Mhyre said that all of the underground work has been completed and that asphalt will be laid down next week. Construction of the building is expected to start shortly.

The contractor is scheduled to complete all of its work by the first week of July, Mhyre said.

The 150,000-square-foot Costco will be located at 3001 184th Street SW, the former site of Lynnwood High School, located north of Alderwood Mall. The site is being redeveloped as a mixed-use retail center dubbed “Lynnwood Place.” Costco will serve as the project’s anchor.
