New group of police volunteers patrolling the streets

The Lynnwood Police Department has welcomed 11 new volunteers to its ranks.

They’re joining dozens of other volunteers in two different groups — Citizens Patrol and Volunteers in Public Safety. They perform several duties such as directing traffic at accident scenes, writing disabled parking citations, opening locked car doors, patrolling shopping areas and parks, and doing vacation house checks.

“Both police volunteer groups provide invaluable services to the police department and public with some acting as extra eyes and ears for police officers,” said Shannon Sessions, police spokesperson.

The newest volunteers are Cameron Castro, Cindy Koyama, Aaron Kwong, Eric Lichneckert, Lance Norton, Roberto Quemada, Jennifer Sciarrino, Katherine Shounder, Jonathyn Komorita, Steven Morris and Charles Caldwell.
