Nicola Smith leads in fundraising among Lynnwood mayoral candidates

Political newcomer Nicola Smith has raised the most money of any of the four candidates for Lynnwood Mayor.

Smith, currently the Dean of Student Life and Development at Edmonds Community College, has raised $8,485, according to the Washington State Public Disclosure Commission. Smith has reported no expenditures. Her top two contributors are Acura of Lynnwood and Bruce Berglund ($900).

City Council President Loren Simmonds has raised $5,170 and spent $1,005.88. Simmonds’ top contributor is Gediminas Trimakas ($500). Two individuals and a real estate company also have contributed $250.

City Councilmember Mark Smith reports raising $4,985.72 with expenditures of $1,978.74 and debt of $1,616.66. Smith’s biggest contributor is Donald Smith ($900) and Voters for Affordable House ($500).

Incumbent Mayor Don Gough has raised $997 and spent $959.88. No information was available on individual contributors.

No numbers for any of the city council candidates were available as of July 7.
