Five years later, Nicole Pietz case remains unsolved

Five years ago today, 32-year-old Nicole Pietz disappeared from her Lynnwood home. She wouldn’t  be heard from again.

Her body was found Feb. 6, 2006 in a wooded area in Burien. Police say she had been strangled to death.  Her 2003 Volkswagen Jetta was found in the University District about two weeks later.

While police can’t give any specifics, the case is still being investigated by the King County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit.

“I can tell you we are still actively investigating the case, but obviously have made no arrests.  Otherwise I’m afraid I can’t say anything more,” King County Sheriff’s Sergeant John Urquhart told us.

There’s a $36,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Office at 206-296-3311.
