National Night Out in Lynnwood

All across Lynnwood tonight, neighbors will come together for a series of block parties.

It’s the annual National Night Out Against Crime, when people are encouraged to turn on their porch lights, lock their doors and go out and meet their neighbors in the name of crime prevention. Statistics show that neighbors knowing one another and watching out for each other reduces crime.

Lynnwood police say 28 neighborhoods have signed up. Police and fire crews, Mayor Gough, City Council members and other city staff will tour each registered event.

We’ll by stopping by as many as we can to take photos. If you have any photos you’d like to share, please e-mail them to lynnwoodtoday@gmail.com and we’ll post them here.
