There are no changes among the top two finishers in the Lynnwood mayoral and city council races following the latest round of primary results.
Edmonds Community College Dean of Student Life and Development Nicola Smith leads in the mayoral race with 28 percent (1,232 votes). Incumbent Mayor Don Gough is running second with 26 percent (1,138 votes) with City Councilmember Mark Smith in third with 23 percent (1,030 votes). City Council President Loren Simmonds has 21 percent (931 votes).
In the Council Position 3 race, former councilmember Ruth Ross leads with 33 percent (1,372 votes) with Douglas Lovitt close behind with 28 percent (1,196 votes).
Ian Cotton continues to lead in the Council Position 2 race with 34.01 percent (1,451 votes) just ahead of Jim Smith, who has 33.82 percent (1,443 votes).
In the Council Position 1 race, incumbent M. Christopher Boyer leads with 45 percent (1,858 votes) with Michael Moore in second with 40 percent (1,650 votes).
The top two candidates advance to the November general election.
The next round of results will be at 5 p.m., Friday, Aug. 9.
