Snohomish County wants residents to help select an alignment for the proposed North Creek Trail.
The trail will eventually connect the Sammamish River/Burke-Gillman Trail in King County with the Snohomish County Regional Interurban Trail through Everett.
There are two options on the table. One follows 13th Drive/14th Drive SE. The other follows Sprague Road, Winesap Road and Filbert Drive SE. Both end at North Creek Park.
Lynnwood residents can have their say at an open house on Tuesday, March 8, Thursday, March 10, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Lynnwood High School at Alderwood Middle School.
At a series of open houses last year, people said their highest priority for the trail was “connectivity to other walk and bike routes,” followed closely by “fitting with the neighborhood” and “being safe to use.”
After a review of all comments, the county will select a preferred alignment. Preliminary designs and a right-of-way plan will be prepared later this year. The purchase of right-of-way could be completed in 2013. The county is seeking grant funding for the permitting and construction.
