Oak Heights Elementary School welcomes new principal Jessica Asp

Jessica Asp

Jessica Asp has been appointed the new principal at Oak Heights Elementary School in Lynnwood.

Asp was previously the assistant principal at Oak Heights and has also worked as an instructional coach and teacher in the Edmonds School District.

Asp is from Mukilteo and a University of Washington graduate.

  1. I am a grandmother of an Edmonds kindergarten student. I was a VP in the corporate world in charge of HR and training, and my two sisters are Masters Level educators. I have been helping my grandson online and am very concerned about the way it being handled. He has gone from a curious extrovert to a 6 year old who hates school.
    1) 9-3 is way too long for a kindergartener.
    2) Saying hello for 30 minutes to each student every morning makes the other students restless
    3) The unsorted curriculum in paper bags was unprofessional and we are constantly waiting for people to try and find pages.
    4) I think Mrs. Curtis is very amicable and is doing the best with what she has, but this is a very unfortunate situation in these troubling times.
